Planning a trip to Atlanta, Georgia? If you’re planning to rent a car, too, Atlanta has plenty of rental car companies to choose from: Enterprise, Budget, Avis, Hertz, Dollar and E-Z Rent.
If you’re tired of the same cookie-cutter service offered by the nationwide car rental companies, Atlanta has some local companies to try out, such as Atlanta Rent-a-Car, iTravel Rent A Car and Triangle Rent A Car.
Good luck with renting a car online with iTravel Rent A Car. Their Web site, powered by technology provided by TSD, can’t recognize a valid date, such as 10/20/2010.
Good luck with Triangle Rent A Car, too. Their Web site lists their hours of operation in their Atlanta office on Peachtree Road, (“which we lovingly call ‘Pea’”) as “closed” for all seven days of the week. In fact, they’re closed all the time, no matter which location you select.
Next, I decided to try Atlanta Rent-a-Car through Breezenet.com, “home to over 50 rental car companies at 200+ airports.”
Success! Breezenet.com was able to give me rates for two car companies that I didn’t know about (Advantage Rent-A-Car and ACE Rent a Car) as well as two name brands I didn’t know served Atlanta: National Car Rental and Alamo. But evidently there is no company called “Atlanta Rent-a-Car.”
I decided to check out the lowest priced car on the list, offered by E-Z Rent-A-Car at Atlanta’s Hartsfield International Airport. That would be an economy car whose name was undisclosed with unlimited mileage for $298.05 per week after taxes and fees.
My conclusion, when traveling in the USA, it may be best to stick with what you know.
