If you are visiting Atlanta and have had a long day of meetings, getting a drink probably sounds like an excellent idea. If you are driving a rental car, it’s important that you drink moderately, but as an adult over the age of twenty-one, there’s no reason that you can’t go relax with a few drinks and then drive back to your hotel room later to get some sleep.
If you are looking for a great place to grab a drink in Atlanta, here are some recommendations for you:
The Northside Tavern: If you are a fan of the wine sold at Trader Joe’s known as “Two Buck Chuck,” you can get a full glass here for; yes, you guessed correctly - $2. Add to this the fact that free live blues bands play here throughout the week, and you have an excellent dive bar where you can kick back and simply enjoy yourself.
Mary’s: Although this bar isn’t necessarily for everyone (although anyone should be able to have a good time here), if you are looking for a bar with a gay friendly atmosphere, Mary’s won’t let you down. Best of all, the bartenders are not only friendly, but they’re very fast at pouring drinks.
Elliot Street Deli and Pub: This place is the epitome of what a great local hangout should be. With great jazz music, drinks that are always cold and delicious sandwiches that can’t be beat, you can always count on having a fun time when you go to Elliot Street Deli and Pub. If you find yourself in Atlanta over the weekend, you can get a great brunch from here on Sunday.
